Important cautions

Diabeze should not be used by people with severe kidney impairment (eGFR below 30), those who are allergic to metformin, or those with metabolic acidosis including diabetic ketoacidosis. Rare but serious risks include lactic acidosis, low vitamin B12 levels (your doctor should check blood levels periodically), and low blood sugar especially when taken with insulin or certain diabetes medicines.
