What it's used for

Augivin is indicated for treating various infections in adults and children caused by susceptible bacteria. How it's taken

Augivin 228.5 for Oral is a powder that must be mixed with water to form a suspension before use. The dose depends on the patient's weight and age, based on the amoxicillin component. For adults and children weighing more than 40 kg, the typical dose is either 500 mg or 875 mg every 12 hours, or 250 mg or 500 mg every 8 hours. For children aged 12 weeks and older, the dose is 25 to 45 mg per kg per day divided every 12 hours, or 20 to 40 mg per kg per day divided every 8 hours, up to the adult dose.
