What it is

Seliron is a brand of pregabalin. Pregabalin works on the central nervous system to help manage nerve pain and can be used as an add-on treatment for partial-onset seizures.

What it's used for

Seliron (pregabalin) is indicated for: neuropathic pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy, pain after shingles (postherpetic neuralgia), fibromyalgia, nerve pain caused by spinal cord injury, and as an add-on medicine for partial-onset seizures in patients aged 1 month and older.

How it's taken

Seliron is available as a 300 mg capsule. The usual starting dose for adults is 150 mg per day, taken in divided doses two or three times a day. Your doctor will decide the right dose for your condition and may adjust it over time. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.

Common side effects

Possible side effects of pregabalin include dizziness, drowsiness, weight gain, and swelling in the hands or feet (peripheral edema). Some people may also experience blurred vision, dry mouth, or trouble concentrating. Tell your doctor if any side effect bothers you.

Important cautions

Do not use Seliron if you are allergic to pregabalin or any of its ingredients. Pregabalin can cause serious reactions such as swelling of the face, throat, or neck (angioedema), difficulty breathing, or severe skin reactions. It may also increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviour. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms. Pregabalin can also cause respiratory depression, especially in patients with breathing problems or those taking other central nervous system depressants.
