What it is

Reberk is a brand of pregabalin, a medicine that works on the central nervous system. It is used to manage neuropathic pain (nerve pain), fibromyalgia, and as an add-on treatment for partial-onset seizures in patients from 1 month of age and older.

What it's used for

Reberk (pregabalin) is indicated for: neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles), fibromyalgia, nerve pain from spinal cord injury, and as an add-on treatment for partial-onset seizures in adults and children 1 month and older.

How it's taken

Reberk 75 mg capsules are usually taken by mouth. Treatment often starts at a total daily dose of 150 mg, divided into two or three doses. The maximum dose depends on the condition being treated and can go up to 600 mg per day for some indications. Your doctor will determine the exact dose and schedule that is right for you. Do not change your dose or stop taking this medicine without medical advice.

Common side effects

Common side effects of pregabalin include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, weight gain, and swelling of the hands, legs, or feet. Some people may experience difficulty concentrating, constipation, or feeling 'high'. More serious side effects can occur, such as allergic reactions (angioedema, hives, difficulty breathing), suicidal thoughts or behavior, and respiratory depression. Contact your doctor or seek emergency help if you experience any severe or worrying symptoms.

Important cautions

Do not take Reberk if you are allergic to pregabalin or any ingredient in the capsule. Pregabalin can cause angioedema (swelling of the face, throat, or tongue) and severe allergic reactions – stop the medicine and get emergency care if these occur. It may also increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior; watch for mood changes. Pregabalin can cause respiratory depression (slow or shallow breathing), especially if you have breathing problems or take other respiratory depressants. Do not stop taking Reberk suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms like difficulty sleeping, headache, nausea, and diarrhea. This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy – avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
