What it is

What it's used for

Prigatex capsules are indicated for managing neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and spinal cord injury. It is also used as an add-on treatment for partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older, and for the management of fibromyalgia.

How it's taken

Prigatex is available as a 150 mg capsule for oral use. Dosing is typically started at 150 mg per day and may be adjusted by a doctor based on the condition being treated. It is usually taken in two or three divided doses each day. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Common side effects

Common side effects include dizziness and drowsiness (somnolence), which may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Other possible side effects include swelling of the hands or feet (peripheral edema), weight gain, and blurred vision. Serious but rare side effects include angioedema (swelling of the face, throat, or tongue), severe allergic reactions, worsening depression or suicidal thoughts, and respiratory depression. Important cautions

Do not take Prigatex if you are allergic to pregabalin or any of its ingredients. It can cause angioedema and hypersensitivity reactions, which require emergency treatment. Pregabalin increases the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in some people. It may also cause respiratory depression, especially if combined with other depressants.
