What it is

Jekzol is a brand of albendazole, an anthelmintic drug. Anthelmintics work by killing or paralyzing parasitic worms. Specifically, albendazole is used to treat infections caused by the larval stages of tapeworms, such as neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease.

What it's used for

How it's taken

The dosage of Jekzol depends on the condition and the patient's weight. For patients weighing 60 kg or more, the typical dose is 400 mg twice daily. For those weighing less than 60 kg, the dose is 15 mg per kg of body weight per day, divided into two doses (maximum 800 mg per day). The tablets should be taken with food. For hydatid disease, treatment is given in 28-day cycles followed by a 14-day break, for a total of three cycles. For neurocysticercosis, treatment usually lasts 8 to 30 days. Common side effects

The most common side effects reported in clinical trials vary by condition.
