How it's taken

Ceftriaxone injection is given by a healthcare professional either into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). When given intravenously, it is typically infused over about 30 minutes. It must not be mixed with any calcium-containing solutions, such as Ringer's or Hartmann's solution, because a precipitate can form.

Common side effects
