What it is

Jopanprofen-200 is a brand of ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works as a pain reliever and fever reducer. It is available as 200 mg tablets and is registered with NAFDAC (A4-7574).

What it's used for

Jopanprofen-200 is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains due to headache, toothache, backache, menstrual cramps, the common cold, muscular aches, and minor pain of arthritis. It also temporarily reduces fever.

How it's taken

Typically, adults and children 12 years and older take one 200 mg tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. If pain or fever does not respond to one tablet, two tablets may be taken. Do not exceed six tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. For children under 12 years, consult a doctor for appropriate dosing.

Common side effects

Ibuprofen can cause serious side effects. Allergic reactions (rash, facial swelling, hives, wheezing, skin reddening, blisters, shock) may occur, especially in people allergic to aspirin. Stomach bleeding is another serious risk, and the chance increases if you take more than directed or use the medicine for longer than directed. Stop use and seek medical help if you experience any of these symptoms.

Do not take more than the directed dose. Always use the smallest effective dose.
