What it is

Bucaldol is a brand of ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and reduce fever. Each tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.

What it's used for

Bucaldol is used for temporary relief of minor aches and pains due to headache, toothache, backache, menstrual cramps, the common cold, muscular aches, and minor arthritis pain. It also temporarily reduces fever.

How it's taken

Bucaldol tablets are taken by mouth. The label recommends that adults and children 12 years and over take the smallest effective dose, typically one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. If one tablet does not relieve symptoms, two tablets may be used, but no more than six tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. For children under 12, a doctor should be consulted before use.

Common side effects

Possible side effects include allergic reactions such as rash, hives, facial swelling, asthma (wheezing), and severe skin reactions.
