Forifen: A Brand of Ibuprofen 400 mg Tablets

What it is

Forifen is a brand of ibuprofen, a pain reliever and fever reducer belonging to a class of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It contains 400 mg of ibuprofen per tablet.

What it's used for

Forifen is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains due to headache, toothache, backache, menstrual cramps, the common cold, muscular aches, and minor pain of arthritis. It also temporarily reduces fever.

How it's taken

For adults and children 12 years and over, the typical dose is one tablet every 4 to 6 hours while symptoms persist. If pain or fever does not respond to one tablet, two tablets may be used. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years should ask a doctor before use. Always use the smallest effective dose.

Common side effects

Ibuprofen may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people allergic to aspirin. Symptoms include rash, facial swelling, asthma (wheezing), hives, skin reddening, shock, and blisters. This product also carries a risk of stomach bleeding, which is higher if you take more than directed or use it for longer than instructed.

Important cautions

Stop use and seek medical help right away if an allergic reaction occurs. Do not take more than directed, as the chance of stomach bleeding increases with higher doses or longer use. Ask a doctor before use if you have a history of stomach problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, or are taking other medications. This medicine is not for children under 12 unless a doctor says so.
