What it is

Labrelax is a brand of diclofenac potassium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps relieve pain and inflammation.

What it's used for

Labrelax tablets are indicated for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods), relief of mild to moderate pain, and relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

How it's taken

Labrelax is an immediate-release tablet taken by mouth. The typical dose for pain or primary dysmenorrhea is 50 mg three times a day. However, the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration should be used, and your doctor will adjust the dose and frequency based on your response.

Common side effects

Possible adverse reactions include cardiovascular thrombotic events (such as heart attack and stroke), gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration and perforation, liver toxicity, high blood pressure, heart failure and edema, kidney toxicity and hyperkalemia, anaphylactic reactions, serious skin reactions, and hematologic toxicity. Consult your doctor if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Important cautions

Do not use Labrelax if you are allergic to diclofenac or any component of the product, or if you have a history of asthma, hives, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Serious warnings include an increased risk of heart attack or stroke, stomach bleeding, liver damage, high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney problems, severe allergic reactions, and serious skin reactions. Use only under medical supervision and at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.
