What it is

Gombefenac is a brand of diclofenac potassium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation. It is available as a 50 mg tablet and is registered with NAFDAC under number B4-7142.

What it's used for

Gombefenac is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain, treatment of primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods), and relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

How it's taken

Diclofenac potassium tablets are taken by mouth. The typical dose for pain or dysmenorrhea is 50 mg three times a day, but the exact dose and duration should be determined by a doctor based on individual needs and risks. Always use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time possible.

Common side effects

Common side effects may include gastrointestinal issues such as stomach pain, heartburn, nausea, or diarrhea. More serious side effects include an increased risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events (heart attack or stroke), gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, liver toxicity, high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney problems, and allergic reactions. Important cautions

Do not take Gombefenac if you are allergic to diclofenac or any NSAID, or if you have a history of asthma, hives, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs.
