How it's taken

The recommended dose for most patients is 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. It can be taken anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before. Based on effectiveness and toleration, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day. Common side effects

Common side effects may include headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, and dizziness. Serious side effects such as prolonged erection (priapism), sudden vision loss, or hearing loss are rare but require immediate medical attention.
