Garyagra (Sildenafil) 50 mg Tablet: What You Should Know

What it is

Garyagra is a brand of sildenafil (as sildenafil citrate), a medicine called a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It helps increase blood flow to the penis to treat erectile dysfunction. Garyagra is registered with NAFDAC as a 50 mg tablet (NAFDAC Reg. No. B4-3232).

What it's used for

Garyagra is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.

How it's taken

Typically, the recommended dose for most men is 50 mg taken as needed about one hour before sexual activity. It may be taken from 30 minutes up to 4 hours beforehand. Based on how well it works and how it is tolerated, a doctor may adjust the dose up to 100 mg or down to 25 mg. Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.

Common side effects

The prescribing information lists possible adverse reactions that include cardiovascular events, prolonged erection (priapism), vision changes, hearing loss, and low blood pressure when taken with certain other medicines (such as alpha-blockers or antihypertensives).
