What it is

Glacin is a brand of paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer (analgesic/antipyretic). Each tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol.

What it's used for

Glacin is used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains such as headache, common cold, backache, minor arthritis pain, toothache, muscular aches, premenstrual and menstrual cramps. It also temporarily reduces fever.

How it's taken

For adults and children 12 years and over, the typical dose is 2 tablets every 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. Do not use for more than 10 days without medical advice. For children under 12 years, consult a doctor.

Common side effects

Paracetamol is generally well tolerated. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe skin reactions (reddening, blisters, rash). If any skin reaction occurs, stop use and seek medical help immediately.

Important cautions

Do not exceed 4,000 mg (8 tablets) of paracetamol in 24 hours. Severe liver damage can occur if you take more than the recommended dose, take other paracetamol-containing products, or consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks daily while using this medicine. Allergy alert: Paracetamol may cause severe skin reactions. Avoid using with other paracetamol-containing medicines.
