Aquacef Tablets contain cefuroxime axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections.
This medicine is commonly used for:
Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
Management of ear, nose, and throat infections including sinusitis and tonsillitis
Treatment of urinary tract infections
Management of skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria
It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of bacteria and helping to clear infections effectively.
Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Cefuroxime Axetil BP equivalent to Cefuroxime – 500 mg
Excipients – q.s.
Colour: Titanium Dioxide BP
Dosage and Administration
Route of Administration: Oral
Take as prescribed by a healthcare professional, usually once or twice daily depending on the severity of infection. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water, preferably after meals to enhance absorption. Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve early.
