LYNXICLAV SUSPENSION 70ML
LYNXICLAV suspension contains two active ingredients – amoxicillin and clavulanic acid – and is used to treat bacterial infections such as those affecting the lungs, ears, sinuses, and skin.
What it is
This is a combination antibiotic medicine. It contains amoxicillin (a penicillin-type antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a beta‑lactamase inhibitor that helps prevent certain bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic).
What it's used for
It is used to treat certain bacterial infections in adults and children, including lower respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis or pneumonia), acute middle‑ear infections (otitis media), sinusitis, and skin and soft‑tissue infections, when the bacteria are known or likely to produce beta‑lactamase.
Common side effects
The most common side effects include diarrhoea or loose stools, nausea, skin rash or hives, vomiting, and vaginal yeast infection. If any side effect becomes bothersome or severe, speak with your pharmacist or doctor.
Important cautions
Do not use this medicine if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis or Stevens‑Johnson syndrome) to any penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotic. Stop use and seek medical help if you develop a rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face/lips/tongue. If signs of liver problems occur – such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe abdominal pain – stop taking it and see a doctor. Diarrhoea that is watery, bloody, or does not go away may indicate a more serious infection and should be reported. Tell your doctor if you have mononucleosis, because a rash is more likely.
