It is also used for chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina), and angiographically documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or reduced ejection fraction.

Common side effects include swelling of the legs or ankles (edema), dizziness, flushing, palpitations, fatigue, and nausea. These effects are often dose-related.
Important cautions
Do not use if you are allergic to amlodipine. Caution is needed in patients with severe aortic stenosis (risk of very low blood pressure). Worsening angina or heart attack can occur when starting or increasing the dose, especially in those with severe coronary artery disease. In patients with severe liver disease, the dose should be increased slowly.
