ROBESTAR 20MG TABS X30
ROBESTAR contains rosuvastatin, a statin medicine used to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in adults as an addition to a healthy diet.
What it is
Rosuvastatin belongs to a class of medicines called statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors). It works by reducing the production of cholesterol and triglycerides in the body.
What it's used for
In adults, ROBESTAR is used as an addition to a healthy diet to treat: high levels of triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia), a type of high cholesterol called primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III hyperlipoproteinemia), and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a genetic condition causing very high cholesterol).
Common side effects
The most common side effects (occurring in more than 2% of patients) include headache, muscle pain (myalgia), abdominal pain, weakness (asthenia), and nausea.
Important cautions
Do not take ROBESTAR if you are allergic to rosuvastatin or any ingredient, have active liver disease, or are pregnant. Serious side effects can include muscle damage (myopathy) and kidney failure from muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis). The risk increases with the 40 mg dose, age 65 and older, thyroid problems, kidney problems, and with certain other medicines. If you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
