Common side effects

Common side effects (occurring in more than 2% of users) include headache, muscle aches, abdominal pain, weakness, and nausea. If any side effect bothers you or becomes serious, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Important cautions

Do not take rosuvastatin if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, have active liver disease, or are pregnant. Serious muscle problems (myopathy and rhabdomyolysis) have been reported, especially with the 40 mg dose, in older adults (65 years and above), in people with thyroid problems or kidney problems, or when taken with certain other medicines. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness.
