Revitone Blood Tonic

REVITONE® BLOOD TONIC 

Read all of this leaflet carefully before you start taking this medicine and keep the leaflet as you may need to read It again. Ask your doctor or pharmacist If you need more Information or advice. REVITONE blood tonic is a liquid preparation containing ferrous gluconale as the major ingredient and belongs to a group of drugs called anti-rinnomic latopnrntlorin. Ferrous ginconnto contains iron which Is an essential clement for production of haemoglobin (protein In rod blood cells) which carries oxygen around tho body, Iron is ruing Involved In the formation of myoglobin, a pigment that stores oxygen in muscles for use during exorcise, 

COMPOSITION Each 5m1 of REVITONE syrup contains Ferrous Gluconate BP granules 100rrig (this is equivalent fo 12mg of elemental iron per 5ml Of the syrup) Thiorninc Hydrochloride 13P 0,20mq Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (sodium salt) RP 0,16mg Cyanocobalamin 0.251.ig 

INDICATION REVITONE can be used in the treatment and prophylaxis (provontion) of iron deficiency anaemia either as a result of blood loss or iron deficient diet, 

DOSAGE ADULT: 10m1 — 15mIto be taken three times daily CHILDREN' (6 —12 years): 5mI to be taken three times daily. 

CONTRA-INDICATION Iron salts should not be given to patients receiving repeated blood transfusion or to patients with anaemia not caused by iron deficiency in order to avoid dangerous accumulation of iron, Do not also take Revitone if you are allergic to iron, have hepatitis, active peptic ulcer or have a hereditary blood disorder e.g. Sickle cell disease and thalassemia, 

SIDE EFFECTS No undesirable side effects have been reported with use of multivitamin preparations following therapeutic doses. Administration of iron preparations sometimes produces gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. This can be reduced by administering the drug immediately after food. 

ADVERSE REACTIONS Adverse reactions are rare following therapeutic doses. However, large doses of iron salts may have irritant and corrosive effect on the gastrointestinal tract, 

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE Do not take more than the recommended dose without checking with your doctor. Do not take large doses of vitamins while you use Revitone unless your doctor tells you to. Revitone has iron in it. Before you start any new medicine, chock the label to see if it has Iron in it too. If it does or you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Revitone may cause darkened or green stools. This is normal and not a cause for concern. This medicine prevents many other drugs from getting into the body. If you take other drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if you need to take them at some other time than Revitone. 



PREGNANCY/LACTATION Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breast feeding. Generally, Iron is considered safe for use during pregnancy and is regularly prescribed as a component of prenatal vitamin/mineral supplements. Iron administration during lactation is generally considered safe for the infant by most clinicians. 

OVER DOSAGE Contact you doctor or go to the nearest emergency room Immediately if too much has been ingested. In case of over dosage, you may experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bleeding from the bottom, diarrhea, lack of clergy, coma, seizures and liver problems. An overdose in children can be fatal. 

STORAGE Store below 30'C, protect from direct sunlight, Keep ad medicines out of the reach of children, Do not use after the expiry date stated on the pack. 

PRESENTATION Revitone is a dark brown syrupy liquid with a strawberry flavor and packed in 200ml amber PET bottle with 28mm ROPP aluminium cap.
