Pree-M Injection 1 g (Meropenem) – Uses, Benefits, Storage & Side Effects Pree-M Injection 1 g (Meropenem) is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic used for the treatment of severe bacterial infections. It is administered intravenously in clinical settings under medical supervision. This medicine is commonly used for: • Severe respiratory tract infections • Complicated urinary tract infections • Intra-abdominal infections • Skin and soft tissue infections • Sepsis and hospital-acquired infections It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, including resistant strains. Composition Each vial contains Meropenem (as trihydrate) equivalent to 1000 mg meropenem and sodium (as sodium carbonate) 90.2 mg.
