Important cautions
Do not take LONART if you are allergic to artemether or lumefantrine. Avoid using with strong CYP3A4 inducers such as rifampin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, or St. John's wort as they may reduce effectiveness. LONART may affect heart rhythm (QT prolongation); avoid use if you have a known QT prolongation, low potassium or magnesium levels, or are taking other drugs that prolong the QT interval. Do not take halofantrine within one month of LONART. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve.
