The diagnosis should be established before treatment, as this method has not been proven effective in other types of basal cell carcinomas.
Common side effects
Common side effects are local skin reactions and include burning, crusting, itching, rash, soreness, and ulceration. Allergic contact dermatitis and scarring may also occur. Changes in white blood cell count have been reported. Some side effects may be an extension of the medicine’s activity.
Important cautions
Do not apply to mucous membranes to avoid local inflammation and ulceration. This medicine may cause harm to an unborn baby if used during pregnancy, including birth defects and miscarriage. Avoid occlusive dressings unless directed by your doctor, as they can increase absorption. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
