Drowsiness is the most common side effect. Others include sedation, blurred vision, dizziness, confusion, dry mouth, nausea, and rarely, unusual movements of the face or tongue.

Do not use this medicine in children under 2 years of age because of the risk of severe breathing problems (respiratory depression).
