This medicine is commonly used for: Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia Management of ear, nose, and throat infections including otitis media and sinusitis Treatment of urinary tract infections Management of skin and soft tissue infections It works through a dual mechanism: amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death, while clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of amoxicillin. Composition Co-Amoxiclav Oral Suspension BP (228.5 mg/5 mL) Each 5 mL of reconstituted suspension contains: Amoxicillin Trihydrate BP equivalent to Amoxicillin – 200 mg Diluted Potassium Clavulanate BP equivalent to Clavulanic Acid – 28.5 mg Excipients – q.s. Dosage and Administration Route of Administration: Oral Reconstitute with clean, boiled and cooled water as directed before use. Shake well before each dose.
