PARIET 20MG TAB PACK
PARIET 20mg tablet contains rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce stomach acid in conditions like GERD and ulcers.
What it is
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medicine that works by lowering the amount of acid your stomach produces.
What it's used for
It is used in adults to heal and maintain healing of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), treat symptomatic GERD, heal duodenal ulcers, eradicate Helicobacter pylori to reduce ulcer recurrence, and manage pathological hypersecretory conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. In adolescents 12 years and older, it is used for short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD.
Common side effects
Serious side effects may include acute tubulointerstitial nephritis, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, bone fracture, cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus, vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium levels, and fundic gland polyps. Seek medical help if you experience symptoms like rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, or severe stomach pain.
Important cautions
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to rabeprazole, other PPIs, or any ingredient in the tablet. It should not be taken with rilpivirine-containing products. If you take warfarin, your doctor may monitor your INR and prothrombin time. Symptom relief does not rule out stomach cancer, so follow-up tests may be needed.
