The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, including diarrhea (16%), nausea (7%), loose stools (6%), abdominal pain (3%), indigestion (3%), and vomiting.

Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to cefixime or any other cephalosporin antibiotic. Serious allergic reactions, including shock, have occurred. Stop taking the medicine and get medical help immediately if you develop signs of an allergic reaction.
