Mosten Tablet is used to decrease the level of low-density lipoproteins, high-density lipoproteins, and triglycerides in the blood. It also decreases the amount of cholesterol and other fatty substances in the blood in children and teenagers who have familial heterozygous and homozygous hypercholesterolemia (an inherited condition in which cholesterol cannot be removed from the body normally). It is a prescription medicine. This medicine works by slowing down the production of bad cholesterol in the body. This medicine prevents the blockage of the blood flow to the major organs such as the heart and brain. Mosten is also used to reduce the risk of fatal (coronary heart disease) and non-fatal heart diseases (heart attack and stroke). It is also used to reduce the risk of heart diseases in patients who undergo revascularization procedure to restore the flow of blood to the blocked arteries of heart.
